I love this thing! No moving parts, no complicated mechanisms. It works as simply as a standard ATC, but the ATC-Pilot will lock automatically if you ever let go of the rope with your brake hand (tsk tsk!) lowering is smooth, and taking rope flows really well also. I'm nothing but pleased with it.

I prefer this over the grigri style or the standard ATC style. The silver-colored portion is metal, but the black portion is plastic.
