xThe Lifestraw Flex is a multi-use water filter that reduces lead and heavy metals and removes bacteria and parasites, complete with a soft and flexible water bottle and a backwashing syringe. It's ideal for hiking, camping, travel and emergency use.
The Flex can be used 5 different ways:
- as a personal straw
- with the included 650mL soft-touch bottle
- with plastic water bottles
- with hydration bladders (with attachment, not included)
- with the LifeStraw Mission.
The Flex implements a two-stage filtration process to transform microbiologically contaminated water from any freshwater source into safe and clean drinking water. It uses a hollow fibre microfilter that lasts up to 2000 liters to:
- Remove 99.999999% of waterborne bacteria
- Remove 99.999% of waterborne protozoan parasites
- Reduce turbidity (muddiness), filtering down to 0.2 microns.
Its special, replaceable activated carbon capsule then:
- Reduces chlorine
- Reduces lead and other heavy metals
- Reduces organic chemical matter, e.g. pesticides, herbicides, VOCs
- Reduces bad odour and bad taste.
This carbon capsule filters up to 100L and should be replaced every 3 months after its first use. Replacement carbon capsules for the LifeStraw Flex will be available as soon as possible.
The LifeStraw Flex highly effective against waterborne diseases such as: Escherichia coli (E.coli), Salmonella, Cryptosporidium parvum, and Giardia lamblia. It also:
- Has no aftertaste, as it doesn’t use iodine or iodinated resin chemicals
- Requires no power or batteries
- Chemical- and BPA-free
- Meets US EPA drinking water standards
- Meets US FDA food grade standards
- Is recyclable.
